Do you have a project suitable as a placement for a PhD in sustainability? ARIES is inviting organisations to propose ideas for a 8-10 week summer research internship to provide its students with a Research Experience Placements (REPs)
The ARIES mission is: ‘to train PhD students with excellent potential from across society, equipping them with the necessary skills to become 21st Century Scientists: leaders in the science and sustainable business of the natural environment’.
Through a diverse and integrated training partnership ARIES enables students to address priority topics in environmental sciences through cutting-edge, world-leading research. All students will receive training to help them understand modern methods of data management, interrogation, analysis and presentation, from bioinformatics to artificial intelligence.
Submit your research questions or project outline
The ARIES DTP is keen to develop and recruit to PhD studentships that are truly collaborative and that have been genuinely co-developed by non-academic partners with counterparts at its hosting partners.
To this end ARIES would like to invite potential supervisors at your company/organisation to submit one or more research questions (or brief project outlines) that could be addressed by a PhD studentship. Submissions need only be very brief.
This information will be used to match potential supervisors at your company or organisation with potential supervisors at ARIES universities or research institutes, with a view to their developing a fully fledged PhD studentship proposal over the coming months.
We are especially keen that CASE and match-funded studentships should be given every chance to be developed and advertised.
Submissions should be made by the end of March using this simple online form, which should take up to 5 minutes to complete (possibly less).
We also have an open call for Research Experience Placements (REPs), which will provide 8-10 week summer research internships to undergraduates of quantitative subjects (maths, statistics, computing, etc). Details of the scheme can be found on our website at https://www.aries-dtp.ac.uk/study-with-us/research-experience-placements-information-for-supervisors/. If you would be interested in developing a REP project with an academic partner, please contact us.
