An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team as Pig Production Manager. Bedfordia Farms runs 1,100 indoor breeding sows, taking their progeny through to bacon weight over three sites in North Bedfordshire. We have a long history in pig production having committed significant invenstment recently into farrowing, weaner and finisher housing. Using European technology, Bedfordia’s pig housing and working conditions are now some of the best in the UK. With these resources you will have the opportunity to develop further our pig business.
Bedfordia Farms is a family owned and controlled intergrated farming and land management business. We are involved in livestock, arable, grain laboratoy, grain storage and estate management, we take a very modern and professional approach to farming.
You must have significaiton experience in pig production with the ability to deliver clear leadership and motivation to our pig team, have exceptional levels of stock knowledge from breeding to finishing with a genuine interest in excellent husbandry and animal welfare.
An excellent communicator with the ability to think quickly and work under pressure. You should be good at planning daily work for yourself and your team, but still maintain flexibility to think on your feet. A hands-on approach is mandatory to work alongside a skilled team.
You will need to demonstrate commerical acument, working with the farms MD on Farm Strategy to achieve the very highest Key Performance Indicators. You wil demonstrate the ability and determination to consistently achieve top class results, with an open approach to new ideas and continual development of working practices. A full driving license is required for this role.
