Agri-Tech Week 2018: Big Data and the Supply Chain

This interactive event aims to bust the myths around data and look at how new technologies are solving some of the issues facing the arable and livestock sectors.
Hosted by the Royal Norfolk Agricultural Association in partnership with University of East Anglia and Easton & Otley College and kindly sponsored by Lloyds Bank.
It features a talk by David Flanders, CEO of Agrimetrics, about developments at one of the first centres of excellence.
David has headed up a number of life-science data organisations and held senior management positions in companies with significant agri-tech customers. He studied Agricultural Botany at Newcastle University and has a PhD in Developmental Biology from the Australian National University.

Talks and sessions:
- Talk by David Flanders CEO of Agrimetrics, about using data science and modelling to build a more productive, sustainable and efficient food system.
- Practical and interactive sessions will be given by CLAAS, CIEL and the UEA.
- Introduction to “Who Buys My Food” an app which provides shopper insight data from a range of sources, including Tesco Clubcard loyalty cards to better understand the purchasing behaviour of specific shoppers and the factors that affect their decision-making process, such as brand awareness, product positioning, and price promotions
