Calling All Members!
Chance to meet fellow members and give 2 min pitch about your product, services or skills.
The ever-expanding Agri-Tech East network is growing at an unprecedented rate, and we are keen to help our members make the most of being part of the UK’s largest and longest-established agri-tech network.
Our latest FREE exclusive member-only event will bring together some of the brightest PhD students looking for opportunities, with some of the leading businesses and organisations in the Agri-Tech East network wanting to host an intern or recruit from the science base.
Members are invited to give a 2 minute overview of their business, highlighting the opportunities for collaboration and partnership, or a call-to-arms for early career scientists seeking their next exciting opportunity.
Could your business benefit from 3 month’s expertise from a post-graduate based at one of the UK’s leading agri-tech research institutions? You might be a farmer looking for a researcher to bring some new thinking into your business, or a tech company needing some agri-insights for your product or service, or an agronomy company wanting to stimulate some new scientific thinking in your business.
The PIPS (Post-graduate Professional Internship Scheme) is a run by BBSRC, the national research council responsible for funding UK agricultural research, and is designed to forge new relationships between industry and academia. The scheme gives PhD students time out of their research project to apply their skills and knowledge to a business or organisation, and in return get first-hand experience of the industry. This is your chance to find a proficient pair of hands, fresh pair of eyes and an expert brain bringing new thinking to your business – your intern may even end up as part of your future skilled workforce.
Post-grads from our member organisations who have already done their PIPS placement but who are looking to build their network in the industry are also welcome to the first event of its kind to help build embed new science skills into businesses with an interest in agri-tech.
