EmpowerRD logo

EmpowerRD have largely automated the process of applying for R&D tax credits, meaning we’re significantly more reliable and cost effective for claimants.

We have a 100% successful claim rate with HMRC, and, because a lot of our processes are automated, we only need to charge 5% for a claim.

That makes us 3-4 times less expensive than other providers/accountants – meaning we provide an average saving of £16,000 for companies claiming through us.

The average amount received from the tax credit is £53,876 per claim, and research has shown that 80% of eligible UK business are not currently claiming. This is particularly the case amongst farm businesses.

If you’re unsure whether your activity is eligible, then get in touch and one of our account managers can assess your eligibility without any charge or commitment.

To help understand, here are a selection of relevant activities that have qualified.

  • Experimentation with new pesticides to control plant or animal disease
  • New or improved processes to increase yield upon harvest
  • Design/development of new irrigation systems
  • New or improved harvesting techniques
  • Evaluating and implementing of odour control treatment methods
  • Optimising productivity and utilisation of dairy pastures

How We Work

Our approach breaks down into four stages:

  1. Eligibility Assessment – Each client is allocated a dedicated account manager who assesses the eligibility of their claim and provides advice on how to maximise their claim value.
  2. Data Input – The client is given access to our online claims platform. The platform provides full guides, intelligent tooltips and response scorings to help ensure their claim is successful.
  3. Claim Evaluation – The account manager will asses the claim once it’s generated and make any amends necessary.
  4. HMRC Submission – Typically EmpowerRD will manage the submission, but if you wish submit via your accountant then we can provide the claim documentation necessary.
